SAORI FREE HAND WEAVING
SAORI is a contemporary method of free hand weaving founded by
Misao Jo in 1969 in Japan. It's a philosophy as much as it is a style
of weaving with four guiding principals:
-Consider the differences between people & machines.
-Be bold & adventurous
-Look out through eyes that shine
-Inspire one another
The fabric woven takes time...hours...days...weeks. Each piece is
perfectly imperfect and one-of-a-kind. In a world dominated by
mass production Carly creates pieces that celebrate the beauty
and humanity of clothing made by hand.
10 minutes of weaving in 30 seconds.
